Here’s a milestone we’re especially proud of: Sootchy is now the official financial literacy partner for the Economic Mobility Leadership Institute (EMLI), a program launched by the African American Mayors Association (AAMA) and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to combat poverty and build generational wealth in underserved communities.
Through EMLI, we’re now working alongside AAMA member-mayors in 11 cities to convene financial literacy forums and put real tools, on everything from homeownership and debt reduction to student loans and building generational assets, directly into the hands of the families who need them most.
This is the mission made concrete: 11 mayors, one shared goal, and a clear path to reach families where they live. It’s exactly the kind of public-private partnership the treasurers at NAST were describing, and we’re already living it.
